Putting together my Stratus VT Rocket. Need some advice on seat sliders. I am waiting on fiberglass bucket seat shells but already mounted the hot foot, throttle, and steering helm/wheel. The folks who redid the floor in the boat glassed in a 12"x12" "seat base" (probably wood) above the floor level, which you can see through the floor. The intent was to obviously provide a sturdy spot to mount seats. There is one on the passenger side and on the drivers side. This is a tunnel V with the tunnels seemingly directly under these seat mounts and no way to access underneath to properly through bolt seat mounts. I am concerned about driving a screw much deeper than the glassed in seat mount, which is roughly 3/4" for fear of poking a screw through the roof of the tunnel... As I sit in the boat, without seats, I realize the hotfoot is pretty far forward, even with my long legs. It is just comfortable for me when I sit forward on the seat mount. I mounted the hot foot on a similar glassed in raised mount under the dash. I mounted it as close to the seat as I could on the mount. My primary questions are:
1. Should I put in seat sliders, or just custom build it to me. I am leaning toward seat sliders, in case I ever sell the boat, or if anyone else wants to drive it.
2. What seat sliders do you guys recommend considering the fiberglass shells and the mounting surface.
3. How should I fasten the sliders considering the inability to through bolt and the lack of depth under the floor.
Thanks for the guidance.
