View Full Version : 225 ProMax ring pins
Has anyone ever came up with a proven method of helping ring locating pins stay in place on these pistons?
And whats the best relacement rod bolt for a 96 225 promax? Thanks TB

Jay Smith can pin your pistons, and while you are at get him to balance your rods and relieve them for the SPS rod bolts.

have you or anyone you know had this done to pistons turning high RPM and how long have they been running?
And what do you mean by "relieving " rods for the SPS bolts?
Whats the expense? Thanks TB

Jay has done many pistons and rods for me. On the stock Pro-Max rod the head of the rod bolt is smaller then the SPS which is out of a 2.5 hi-perf motor, the Pro-max rod needs to be releaved a little so the bigger bolt can be torqued done without the socket hitting the side of the rod. If your going to turn more then 7500 rpm's I would go with a different piston and remove the oil injection.
