Here's my problem. I have a 1989 Yamaha Pro V 150 on a 1990 Nitro 186 TF. Idles great, mid range is great. Top end will hit 5800 RPM's then start to cut out. It just starting doing this. Took fuel filter off at the head and noticed there was some dirt in the filter. Curious to what should I check first or where should I start? Fuel Pumps? Carbs? coil packs? Stator? Vent hoses to the tanks seem clear. Tried pumping primer bulb at wot and no change. I am going to pump gas out of the tanks. I always put stabil marine formula in with the gas to try and eliminate an ethanol issue....I'm new at this so any help is GREATLY appreciated!!

Thanks guys!

Fuel pumps and carbs are the obvious places to start. Do away with the factory filter and put an inline fuel water seperator in line.

Also check that the fuel lines are not rotted from the ethanol fuel. That could be one of the sources of dirt as well.
