I'm just looking to richen the low end of the music. I don't need to be the loudest most obnoxious person at the sandbar.

I'm looking at the 10" with the built in amp to mount inside of the center console. Also since my boat is parked at a storage lot I don't want to spend a ton of $ on high end stuff that might grow legs.

Anybody using a powered Bazooka in their boat? How is it holding up?

Thanks, Ken

I have a 8 inch Bazooka Ive had for some time and a number of vehicles its still going strong and doesnt seem to miss a beat. Its not overly obnoxious and doesnt weigh a ton but gives me the right amount of bass. Ide definatly buy another.

I have one in my truck and have had it for years, not sure how well it would work on the boat though.

The cheaper Bazooka subs use a woofer with foam surround, so don't expect super long life. A few years back, they made a step-up model called an RS series that had a bigger amp and better speaker. They might also make a marine series with a poly & rubber speaker, which will hold up better in the boat.

Also, there are many other types of compact powered subs that have hit the market recently. Many of them fit under a car seat. One of them is shaped like a "box of work boots" with two flat 6x9 speakers in it.

I recently added a sub to my boat, next to the rear fuel tank behind the back seat. I ordered a JBL GTO series 8" subwoofer, mounted it in a basic ported tube, and powered it with an old 150 watt Kenwood power amp that has a built-in low-pass filter. Sounds fantastic. :)

I have had two 8" powered (200w) Marine Bazookas for a few years now. I think the quality of sound for the value is worth it. They have held up thru salt exposure and sun when I had them mounted in a 25' Pro-Line CC. I took them out when we traded in the boat and now they are in my 18' Talon and still sounding great. Get the Marine version, it has a white painted exterior finish and no carpet to get wet.

I have 2 marine 8" under my front deck powered of a 4channel bazooka amp bridging 2 channels for them. They work great

It's the marine 10" with the built in amp that I'm looking at. Sounds like this is the way to go.

Thanks, Ken

Yes, the 10 with the 250 watt amp is the one I'm interested in. Have not gotten it yet. Need to stop the bleeding of money for a couple of weeks.
