This post is related to my previous post, about rebuilding a '88 200 GT Looper. What pistons would be best suited for my application. I here alot of bad things about wiesco's

270 -280 hp @6500 speed and ski motor

They are a hypereutectic design, and give you the best of both worlds. Close tolerances like cast pistons, and high strength similar to (but slightly less than) forged.

Call Stoker, order what he tells you, from him!
Then pester the hell out of him with dumb ass questions until he stops answering the phone!;)
That's what I did.
He knows his **** on OMC's and is more willing to help that any one else.
Just let him make a couple of bucks off of you so he's not doing it completely for free:D (he is very busy all the time and is down one man in his shop. He builds motors and boats plus runs a full line/service dealer ship all while writing articles for HB magazine, and helping idiots like us on this board.we are very gifted to have some one of his caliber willing to help us)
There is a corolation there of dollars spent vs dumb ass questions answered! Haven't quite figured out the formula/ratio yet.
I spent like 2 grand with him 2 years ago and he just started hanging up on me a couple months ago ;)
Guess I could probably figure it out?? Lets see, twelve bazillion dumb as questions divided by 2000 = .003 cents per answer.
Man, that's cheap!

P.S. Rocco, seriouslly, be very careful before you start into this project. Also be careful taking info from multiple people and mixing it. If you do this and then have problems with your motor, you wont have a hope in hell of figuring out which one of your "latest/greatest" ideas didn't work.
Seen it done over and over again. Look at peoples past projects for varification in what they're telling you.
Lots of experts on this board that never touched the inside of an O/B before.

I doubt if there are more than 3 men in the country as or nearly as qualified to advise anyone on OMC hotrodding than Al Stoker. Can't go wrong there.

Gary, I got a good laugh from your post. As for the one man deal, I am not down to one I am one man short, currently have four in the service department but would like 5 or 6.

Yep, I knew that, must have worded it wrong.

Still think you guys should have a 1-900-dmb-ass? line.
You and Monty would both be rich just from me:D

My above post to Rocco was not inteded in any way to degrade or berate RickRacer, only trying to be helpfull to a guy asking a lot of the same questions I was a couple of years ago.
I had really good success with something I tried several years ago when building the motor for my Super Bee.
I was shopping for all the motor parts when I decided to call Bob Mazzolini Racing out in California.
I told him that I knew I could save a few bucks on parts at the mail order houses (he was close on price) but wondered if I bought my parts from him (couple $K worth) if he would answer my tech questions when I called him 6 months later.
He said "absolutely", and he did. (He had several NHRA Stock and Super Stock racers working for him at the time)
It was very well spent money!
