Johnson 225 Jetting Question

87 Johnson 225 upper carbs #398393 Lower carbs # 398395 .... I read somewhere the correct jets on these motors is 48 low 14 mid 62d Main .... After pulling it apart after reading this , my motor has four carbs with 48 14 58C and the other two are 36 14 63C ... Any idea why ? Differences in the "c" and "d" main jets ? If they are wrong for whatever reason , do I need to buy the correct ones or drill them ?

I thought C series jets came in cross flow motors, and D series in loopers ( 60 and 90 degree ).

Maybe they are already drilled??

Direction of flow is opposite from a c to a d jet. You need to get the correct ones before you break it. The jet size you listed is for an air box with the baffel and I would go up 2 on the lower cylinders

Thanks Racer .... Will do ... I bought it this way , not sure why somebody would run it like this ..... Anybody on here have any jets layin around or know where to get them cheaper than 10 bucks a piece ?

I looked for 331433 & 329411 (cause it's the only numbers I can remember) & they were cheaper at ishopmarine.

Ah! Maybe different prices for different part #s, I need a set of 333438s (77d) so that's what i've been pricing.
