Do to the overwhelming requests and lack of other events the rally is back. The dates are tentative but are looking at August 9-11th. Here is the deal on the racing and poker run: If you want those set it up... I will not be involved in that aspect of the event. Savannah Lakes Resort has re-opened and will be the placing a block on the rooms shortly. Please check back for updates as I will post them as they happen, look forward to seeing everyone there

WOW wasnt expecting that Chummy, Call Austin. He called me last week and said he may have more rooms ready. Don't know if just part of resort is booked or whole thing. He wanted to make sure I got a room but I'm just gunna go back and forth.

That's the hardest part of the whole rally which is why I quit putting it on. I would also highly suggest whoever does handle the drags to purchase insurance.

Kevin, Not sure if it is required or why I did it but I always got one from the US ARMY Corp of Engineers when I did it. They run our lake :(. Also make sure you check with the ranger at Hickory Knob as a courtesy if that's where ya'll are gunna run. Don't know if the same ranger is still there but he always tried to shut me down but got overrode by DNR. I was back there last weekend and it is full and beautiful back there. I was spectating at Murry the other weekend and ya'll did a fantastic job with the course. I Jus aint got nuttin that will run (Right Now).

Just an update...... talked to USACOE... and the ranger at hickory knob,have all permit applications and will be faxing DNR and the ranger with applications ,once the ranger signs I will submit to the Army core of engineers ... should have word from SCDNR in less than a week,will keep you all posted.

DRGN- Call Elijah Clark State Park. Its a park with campsites about 400 yards from Resort(across river) and has the ramp that everyone uses. The resort doesn't have a ramp(don't know why). You wont miss out on anything staying there. I think they also have cabins for anyone looking.

Kevin is doing a great job and I too will be putting some dollars in the pot even though I haven't got a boat in this fight. Just want to keep this going for future events / generations. Maybe we will have a boat for my son Robbie to be competitive in next year.

This is the reason I am not handling the racing anymore. Post up the rules so everyone knows what to expect and when to be where

Thanks to all that showed up and helped make this a great weekend. I don't care what flavor boat you prefer,this was a really good time. Of course I wish a car motor boat could have been King but it's going to take a little more work. Steve put on a heck of a show and he is a class act.
