These things are unbelievable. The 75H is a must have for anybody that likes old race stuff. The detail is phenominal. The wrap around even comes off of it. I also ordered a 300 GT Johnson and Evinrod. They're pretty cool too, with the velocity stacks on the front of the 8 carbs. From a collectibility standpoint, I'd have preferred that the makers had opted for stock gearcases instead of the Bob's cones, but otherwise they're really neat.

I hope the 75H's sell out real fast so maybe they'll build a T2X and a Champ motor. Maybe they'll do a 300 drag too.

I got mine today too!! :D One red, one blue.

Err... excuse me... "We" got ours today ;)

Aren't they just the CUTEST LITTLE THINGS YOU EVER SAW!!!!!!

I had to take the cowling off just for the heck of it --- gosh, even the PULL CORD works :D

Now I have to put it all back before Brad gets home...hee hee hee...

I was curious why they built blues, since Merc never built one. Jeff said it was more like a "could have been" engine, since other colors were available on the std production Mark 75's. Anyhow, it's one of the neatest models I've ever seen.

I bought a V-8 from them a couple years ago.
Course they told me I'd get a discount if I bought two. I BOUGHT THREE!! Counter rotators even.
Mine did'nt have the removable cowls yet.
Is it the 2.4 bridgeport or a 2.5 that they also have??
I saw pixs of that and the detailing was incredible!!
Excellent prices too considering the quality.

Gary, I really wasn't going to admit that I bought the two V8's. Even the ole' gal, who doesn't give a crap about boat stuff said, "I can't believe you bought that Johnson". I've got one of the Pro Max's sitting on my desk. I hope they'll build some more Merc race stuff. They told me there's a Mark 55 already in the works which is a 4 cyl, but I can't believe it'll be a big seller.

I might try to build a balsa wood replica of that hydro that ran the 75 H way back then. It's the one with the little wing on the back and I assume it was one of Entrop's boats.

I bought mine to build a scale model of the Sonic for the twins.

You might be shocked about the 55H's.
Look at all the garbage that the freakin crooks are pedalling off as "classic race" motor stuff.
Really pisses me off, most of it is purely fishin motor stuff.
Point is, if these idiots (buyers and sellers) are going crazy of this antique junk I'll bet they buy the models!

P.S. when I sold the last of my 20H stuff a few years back, one of the guys that came and bought some of it was wearing MK55H ear rings!!
My face muscles hurt from trying to keep from laughing at him until he paid me and left. Donna had to go inside.

I've got a 55H (real one) and that would be fine, but Alterscale's building the fishing/pleasure version. I just don't think it'll sell.

Hey, where did you guys get the motors? Do they have a web site? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Ro:D

My bad on the MK55, I thought you said it was an H.

Thanks!

I also have the V-8 Evinrude that was produced with the striping boo boo. Why not? That will probably end up being the most valuable one of them all. :D

We also have a big collection of toy tunnels, and the old K&O outboards + the boats that were sold with them back in the 1950s. Our shelves had to be taken down because we had a fireplace put in the basement over Christmas.

As soon as we get the shelves back up, I'll take some more pictures of those.

They are all really really cute. :D

Craig ~

The link should work, but if you want to go to the Mark75H page directly, try this one

The wraparound cowl is even metal, just like the big one, and springs open when unhooked...........very authentic.

Man the first thing I'm going to do to mine is ink over the lower "Marathon Six" white lettering on the throttle side. It's only supposed to be on the fuel pump side....ooops.

The prop looks better than I expected. Cleavers didn't yet have the pointy tips we expect to find nowdays.

I'm still waiting to see the carbs to see if they look like AJ's or KA's.

Sam, I took some pics of the carbs but they were too fuzzy to post. The detail on the carbs isn't real good on the port side if I remember right. Overall, I still give it an A.

Mark75H

Definitly an A, even if its not 100% accurate.

Now, I've had a chance to see the Alterscale Mark75H in person I can say that the detail work is even more impressive than the pictures can show. The shape and purportions of the prop are 100% accurate (it looks iffy in pictures, but I guarantee in person it is dead on); over all purportions are 100% accurate. Colors are true to original.

Dam Sam, you went back 18 mos to find this post? I like the 75H so much I wish I'd bought an extra one to display with the cowl off.

Now if they'd just go ahead and build the Twisters.

By the way, thanks again Sam for your help with our evaluation on that unit.
