What do you guys think of them? Anything I should be aware of other than the typical core issues? What power do most of you guys hang on em?
Uncle had a vegas xt growing up and I loved it.

Can be fast if set up right with good power, and bottom is blueprinted/sharpened. Not hard to drive. Biggest downfall is it's absolutely terrible rough water ride. In anything but a 6" chop it will pound you to death. That might not be a big deal but if you take someone out for the day and the lake gets roiled up, you will hate it.
The boat will not perform well with anything less than a V6/150 hp minimum. With a strong 150 and good setup, 80+ is typical. With a 175, mid 80s. With a 200, mid 80s to low 90s. With a 2.5/260 or 280, 100+.

My old predictor was like that as well. I had to cross lake moultrie with nearly 50 other boats after a festival and didn't know if I was going to make it lol. I typically stay down on our river which is nice and calm.
I would have a low hours OMC 150 (25in) on it at first. I would love to upgrade to a bigger johnnyrude or merc down the line. I expect it to run 60ish if I am lucky and get the right prop.
Thanks for your input.

Dont put a 25in on it :nonod:
What year is the 150?
We had one with a 175 looper on it ran 87 with 2 people full of fuel a 30ET and the motor low. Probably had 90s in it. Fun little boats as long as its not rough, I was in one last weekend.

It's already got the 25in on it unfortunately. The 150 is a 2000 model with 8 hours since rebuild.
I am however eying the two loopers in the FS section. I will have the boat Sunday so I will be sure to post pictures and such.

Will do! Might have to go out and pick on James and his new Ally.

That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the post over on the other board! We will see what happens. Ideally I can sell this motor to a friend for his center console and save him a few bucks. Then I can find a motor from one of you guys and save a few more bucks.
I really am leaning towards a johnnyrude... gonna make some people mad. lol I already get the fishing motor jokes.

If I could have found an injected 250 OMC that wasn't a FICHT for what I got my new motor for I'd still be sporting a white mota. Let people talk trash, they'll shut up quick when a fishin mota whips there arse.

As state above, the wide pad will beat the daylights out of you! Fun flat water boat and very fast out of the hole. They turn flat (don't lean in well) but are fun to drive. I had a YT bowrider with a Merc 175 and the boat ran 70+ with only 6" of setback. The open bow was kind of nice.
