I just bought a new motor and just trying to figure out what it is or could be defiantly is not 2.5. I think it may be 2.4 200. It has two piece heads I have searched but I can not find the numbers on the block or anything that ring a bell to anyone. Thank

First Finger Ported 200 Merc was 1983, Had WH 22 Carbs. 1982 had no finger ports, and they went to Different Carbs in 1984. Hope that helps.

Post up a picture of the side of the block on the throttle arm side. significant difference between the 2.4 and 2.5 block around the cylinder areas...easiest way for me to tell the difference anyway.....

I have looked at that I know it's not a 2.5 just tring to see if it is 2.0 or 2.4. All my searching leads me to a 200 2.4 do the #s in the freeze plugs have to start with letters to be the right numbers to see what it is. I will post all the #s I can find today

Where is the fuel pump located? Switch box side or throttle arm side?

It's a 2.4. The 2.0 liter fuel pumps are on the switch box side of the block.
