I hear ya brother, seems today new music is not happy at least in the interracial aspect. rap to me is not musicianiship, just "rhimes". I plan to dispay my choices that may contribute to a "new cool". sorry to be so frank, but I'm tired and hungry.

I was born about 20 years too late. I hear stories about the 60s, and 70s. Love.... Sex.... More Sex... I'm an 80s kid. All I can remember is Rainbow Bright, and New kids on the block... :(

The 70s were great. Parents all seemed to turn a blind eye to whatever us kids did, hoping they would learn a lesson or two on their own. We got held accountable, but they weren't overbearing freaks like today.
Back then, we were two kicks on the starter away from being so far from home that parents today would have us on milk cartons.

The 70's, yeah man. Hydrostreams came out, vettes and Z-28's were 3-4 thousand bucks. Jobs were everywhere. Girls were easy to score with. The best music ever in the 60's and 70's. What else could you want? It was maybe the best decade ever.....

Born 1950 me, dad and older bro were gearheads, car and boat maniacs. My bro was a (10 years older me), did the 40's/50's years, like then was Elvis, the "do wop", poodle skirts,, etc. DAMN, I was BABY SAT, in the dad bought 1953 corvette! Then the "muscle cars years" and the BEST times my life were, 1964/68 in HS!

Then Nam in 1969. I don't know WTF happened the USA when I got back the "world",..as turned to BS "laws". The 70's music survived, did well ..(and the BEST TOO)

I have to admit,. as I REALLY feel sorry for the "younger" born middle 70's, and later. What we did was ..hard to explain here. Simple.."ya should have lived it";)

Simple look at the "Great Old Songs", stickey here kids.(Thanks Greg for the "stickey too:thumbsup:) The way it was at one time....(just go youtube, Don McClain "the day the music died)

Live concert in Nashville, Tennessee (2003). It was during their Vicious Cycle Tour, and marked the band's 30 years of rock 'n roll.

"Free Bird" was first featured on the band's debut album in 1973. Released as a single in November 1974, it became the band's second Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in early 1975,

What year was that? Weird, as (I was in Nam during ) Woodstock, and
as 400,000 + there, seems little if any problems? Just babies being
born, the "brown acid", medical tents for the wasted. Simple they took
care each other?

But I remember BTO..(also a Humble Pie) outdoor event with many bands,
this be in the late 70's, (and where ya didn't walk in, ya drove in,
as a outdoor Race track both"

Heard gunfire somewhere..(rival biker gangs), and that was it, as NO
more outdoor events. Just takes one azzhole to kill the fun for good.

I just "posted" on the "politics forum"..(3 1/2 minutes of truth), my
"welcome home from Vietnam", story.

Hate to say it, but the "good old days are GONE!" Glad tail end my
life, but ya young bucks? START BITCHEN ..as its YOUR future

Damb, I remember when "everyone" was doing the Disco thing. I was into "RUSH" before anyone had heard about them. Drove a 69 Ram Air GTO when everyone else drove Pinto's, 4 cly Vega's, etc. Must have been f@#ked up.
Now their driving ScoobieDoo's, Jetta TDI's, and have A pontoon boat with an electric motor that does a mind boggling 1/2 a mph. And still don't know what real fun is, sit in their big azz office building that puts out more emissions than all our 2 strokes put together. So Bite Me , long live real Rock and roll, Muscle cars and 2 strokes.

Concert halls and theaters were full of smoke, and it wasn't all cigarettes then. Oh, and aids wasn't a word yet.

Yep..I "slightly" remember after Nam, I ended up in Germany. 4 us went to a concert think Hanue. GENERAL ADMISSION! Doors opened at 2pm, ..(simple "pick yer feet up and get "carried in") the mad rush for good seats! 4 bands played, last was Deep Purple, and almost 6 hours later! Then was ZERO .."check yer purse, etc". :D

Seems everywhere I was before was "roll'ems, and smoke'ems, and beer. NOT there! EVERYONE had a pipe full hashish, and bottles of wine. And as EVERY one had something to share, IT WAS NOT A "PASS IT BACK" either. HA! It was the "original "wave", as more coming from the right! (and meant to or not,. it was simple "passed to the left, and little cared anyway!! Just get to go out with a new bowl when the one the left said.."enough for me!" Great times! And if never saw the Deep, and Ritchie Blackmoor? "Smoke on the water"...(ya missed out BIG TIME!)

Oh yeah, any here old "HD bike riders? First time saw ""Easy Riders" the big (real) screen, and when we came out the theater, and ya owned a P/U truck? HA! "Blow yer azz away too" . Nuff for now me.......(but I'll be .."bacccccccck);)

Electronics were better quality back then also. Bought new I still have my Kenwood tuner/amp with 160 watts per channel. Kenwood granite turntable. 100's of albums. Tandberg cassete player/ recorder. And an Aiwa reel to reel. All play thru a pair of JBL studio masters with 15'' woofers and Klipsch horns for the mids and hi's. This system has played for thousands of hours and is still used for our sound system in the living room. Never needed any repairs. Puts out better sound for the TV than our old home theater system that crapped out years ago. edit, had the mind blowers also, rocked my little vette big time.

Neighbor down the street has ..well.."A LOT OF OLD VINYL!"
And him and the wife are pro dancers too. I go down there and BS with them, get "whiskey'ed up, and I can yank a great old "vinyl jacket", show the back side, or middle a fold out double, and 10 FEET away, KNOWS THE BAND, AND EVERY SONG ON IT TOO! Great old sound system, massive buck turntable, old REAL amps, etc.

Yep, know what said! And in my last old corvette had a 1000 watt amp under the passenger seat, twin "6x9's", rear. Yep, it was a 1980, (end of "REAL" muscle, not the new crap no one can afford), but it was a gas! Pop the T-Tops, CRANK up ZZTop, the Golden doggy riding shotgun! "WE BE COOL!

On "quality" now? Sucks. Damn, I got..(the dogs boat), a 20 foot Bayliner, 25 YEARS old now..(its all in the maintenance ya know), but that damn (came with it) cassette player STILL works fine, and NEVER cleaned the "heads"..(Yep, I got boxes cassettes too. First concert I went to, 13th birthday present IIRC, was ZZ Top with Point Blank opening for them on ZZ's Tejas tour. I was right up against the barrier and still have the pictures I took with a 110 film camera.
The spouse of one of the people that works for my oldest brother works for the company that manages ZZ Top. He gets free tickets all the time to go see them.

Damn! Point blank SOUNDS like ZZ! And speaking off openers for the big names, many were JUST AS GOOD or better!

First concert after getting out of Nam, then Germany, was Black Sabbath downtown Chitown. DAMN!.. never heard of them, but they were fantastic!

Damn..guess I was lucky to kinda see it all. 14 year older sister, 10 year older brother, me born in 1950, and dad (radio TV repairman, so TV's on all over, remember all the great old shows) was a boat/gearhead too. So thats how I got the "boat bug" as him and my bro had boats. My brother got his license at 16, and seems he always got stuck "babysitting me". He was a member of the "Road Gents" car club, and I went to many meets with them guys in the old rides, the Drive'ins, drag strips. And the 50's parties they tossed were just too much for this young kid. No more dads old 78's, now all 45's! Simple some great damn times to live.

Some my bro's rides, and last, me and my dad.

Anyway, a simple perfect day here PNW, 70° and not a cloud to be seen, and the "mountains" west the Olympic Range covered in snow, as Mt Rainier the east which is always as the highest mountain the US. Over 14'000 feet, and think has 33 "glaciers" too. Sun going down, and its lite up like...well.."Purple Mountains Majesty"!

Like "Wavy Gravy" said long ago at Woodstock.......(and when I was in Nam too, and never heard a word it there...)

I can't find at the moment the full version..(44 minutes Madison SQ G, but I saw him in Chitown, and lasted think 118 MINUTES! DAMN! The best thing was after, as a ALREADY worn out crowd, ..said .."now for my second song!". Ian Anderson was a master at "whatever", and still is. Heres only 11 minutes...

Heres some old "great days the 70's" me. Santa Fe Speedway back in Chitown . Got this pic on FB today a friend. And I emailed to the old crowd still with us with this..
"DAMN, I still miss that place. EVERY Wednesday night for the
motorcycles races, the "World of Outlaws" sprints, "Demo /Figure 8
nights........(and of course getting showered with beer cups that
summer I was hobbling around in a cast..DAMN, it was just too much
fun!)
But they.."Paved over paradise, and put up a parking lot"...GRRRRR...

Me now..on the cast on my leg? HA! SKIED all winter on many US mountains, BUT? Went to the CMSC..(Chi Metro Ski council) end of year racing awards in MAY, and "did a high heel brake my ankle off a side driveway GOING THERE! I could ski, but walking?" And in summer that year, when running my old Switzercraft/XS..(Blarneys on Thursday, Channel cruse W/E'sd ), they made me go out in the boat, or race with a LIFE JACKET strapped to my cast..(Left foot cast, still a good leg the "hot Foot" :p Thing was if I flipped it, I would be floating upside down, but "found"? And this was the days before helmets, "lifelines" Simple .."went" for it. ;)

Anyway, back why I'm so fired up today.."OLD DAYS!"? All the old drag strips are gone there now, where I either raced, and was there. Oswego, US 30, way more, simple gone. Think Union Grove WI..(Broadway Bobs), still cooking.

Heres a pic, and a couple links the "history" first the cars, second the MC racing
