Has anyone seen one, and do you have a picture of it.

i have seen 2 around here. forgot to take a pic of it.

looks really kewl. guys seem to think they drive better too.

Interesting, Looks a little Hydromotive/Lightning shaped. Good looking lower.
Just wait for the Chinese to copy it it will be cheaper:)

other than the casting change (adding that rib) what are the differences? What's it supposed to do differently?

Strut is different, skeg looks a little different. Wonder if they lowered the plug to keep people from over filling them?

It almost looks like the rib may help deflect water to the intakes and maybe let one run higher height, hence the bigger skeg and raise the blowout speed?

No raised lip on the rear of the case where a blow out ring would be.

Its a nice lower....

It is a slightly larger diameter than the old case. it will have to be raised higher to run, but it is faster than the old case on a fast boat. (bass boat)
Mercury's official position is that it will not retrofit an older engine. The bolts do line up, the lower will fit and function correctly ,however. There is a difference in some other parts in trim/midsection on motors originally equipped with this lower (according to Merc).
