Fuel Mixture 260

I have read and read and read about 260 fuel mixtures and there are a lot of different opinions. What ratio should be run in a 260 under 8K rpm using 100% synthetic Pennzoil? I won't be running it for extended periods of time because the lakes aren't that large. I would prefer to run 40:1 to keep the smoke down, but really need to know what you guys are actually running.

If you had said 7,500 rpm, I would have said 1:40 given your desire to reduce the amount of smoke.

At 8,000 rpm, I would go with 1:32. The fuel curve gets lean quite fast up there, so you need the extra oil in the fuel to get enough oil per revolution.

The Pennzoil 100% Synthetic is a very good oil. However, if smoke is your primary concern, you should try Alisyn. Alisyn smokes a lot less, and it seems to lubricate really well despite what should be an inferior base stock to Pennzoil.

You will never notice the difference between 40 : 1 and 32 : 1 in terms of smoke . run 32 :1 and your 260 will be happy if your box is set right .:D

We have some fairly long slow no wake channels and the tree huggers give me a nasty look....come to think of it maybe I should run24:1:D
