The same as it usually is Greg. Someone is not as cool as they thought they were! :) I seriously hope a new rear valence and tail light assy is done up in the aftermarket.

It was definitely a GM test vehicle based the the "M" (manufacturers) plate. Either the stability control was off because it was a test mule or the driver shut it off to get it that far jacked out of shape. I've seen and been a part of test mule carnage in the past. No one should lose their job.

your speaking volumes there, engineers are some of the most selfinflated individuals I've delt with, including family, (phd in nucular engineering, can't find a job in the US, and just PISSED all the time) next stress engineer at a aircraft co. just jelious of most any achiver more prosperious than himself. ( including doctors, lawers, and indian chiefs ) my experince with "engineers" at sea ray was they could put it on paper, so THATS IT! :icon_bs: ever herd of practical application? take your papers back to your cubicle and I'll figure out how to put this thing into production.

That pic reminds me of a similar pic I saw in the back of a car magazine years ago with a Ferrari in a ditch and the driver standing beside it. The caption read, Good tires but defiantly not great tires.

I spent 18 years in Automotive and dealt with this stupidity every day. I thought I had seen the worst of it until I went to work in the medical device industry. It's 10 times worse there.
Love your final sentence! I live it every day. Currently I have a part sitting on my desk that I have to figure out how to put into production for 90% less than the current cost otherwise there's no market for it yet we spent millions developing the technology.
The best way I've figured out how to deal with the arrogance and stupidity is to tell myself that with out these idiots I would not have a job.

An engineer can tell you 100 different ways to make love to a woman but doesn't have a girlfriend.

That plate usually used on something one of tha higher ups in tha plant and/or management of some kind that drive tha thing on a daily basis. They can put X number of miles on it then sell. So chances are it could have been one of tha "big dogs" that screwed up...........

I wonder if this is the blue one that was wrecked?
There is a vid on this page and near the end the dude that videoed them talked to the drivers.

Knowing they were in that part of Mesa, my guess would be that wreck was out by Canyon Lake, and probably by someone not expecting the turns out there (quite a few have a decreasing radius you can't see and don't expect unless you know the road very well). If it was Canyon, quite a few experienced drivers/riders crash there, but not usually something that expensive or rare!

Engineers at other companies are not as bad as the ones at your own facility. I can deal with the engineers. the ones that piss me off are the know nothing purchasing folks. Too damn cheap to pay for prototypes but they don't seem to mind paying big bucks for re-work.That way they can blame it on engineering. Solve huge problems for them by bailing out them and there engineers by spotting problems in advance. Yet when it comes time to place a gravy production order they go where its $1.50 cheaper. I have seen them order prototypes from one company and deal with the incomplete design issues ect. Then place the production order with another company thats a couple bucks cheaper. If engineering doesn't document the changes then the production order is frucked up. Or if the company that makes the production order on different equipment sometimes unseen problems will arise.
Sorry I hate bean counters worse than engineers.

I agree with fun. I have been in board meetings and been to large factories to implement solutions engineers could not. The main problem with the marine world is only one engineer on salary had a degree in aviation and aerospace. This crosses over to marine.
So be who you are and solve your own problems. An educated person sometimes is not the person for the job. Especially behind the wheel.
