Putting a block back together, is there a generic sealer that is available form this or do I have to get it thru a merc dealer

Pro Marine sells their own version of it. I have also been told by several builders that the brown sealer they sell is also ok to use, in fact some prefer it. I'm sure you are going to get lots of opinions on this.

I bought "gel seal" from Pro-Marine. The loctite I use is 518......
Heard the brown stuff cleans up easier.

The Loctite stuff mentioned works really well. We call it grape jelly. It's main use is for Industrial Equiptment that operate in a constant vacuum and it works really good!! Grainger is the cheapest supplier I know of.

Isn't that the good old Indian Head Permatex 5J in the 2 oz. size, or the Merc Perfect Seal 92-34227q02 in the 16 oz. size?
it's brown and works great!

I use permatex high tack. It cleans up easier, comes in a can with a brush attached to the lid.
I have been using it for about 4 years now, with no issues.
