I have a A42 ECU on my 260 Merc. The chip inside has the numbers 847619-19. Would anyone know what the rev limiter would be set at??

if it is a mercury box should be a-49 that 260s would have come from the factory with,8000 rpm limiter, tim

Thanks Tim
It is definatly a digital A42 mercury box. I know it does at least 8500rpm as i have seen that on my tacho.

Never seen an A42... Could it be a A47? If so it would have a black fuel regulator, and a 9250 rev limiter.

I have attached some pictures taken of the back of the ECU and also of under the ECU cover.

Not to confuse things but I bought a 97 OS/SS 260 new and it came with the A42 chip and I thought it had 8K rev limit but can't remember for sure. I still have the chip #847619-10 but I agree your chip does not look factory.

I sure would like to have a digital box with or without an A-48 or A-49 chip in it. I can buy a chip but need a good ECU to put it in . anyone have any opinion on the 11350 A-37 ECU analog???

If it takes a chip its gonna be digital. Never seen an 11350 that didn't. There ain't nothin' wrong with a good 11350 (not a thousand + $ers either) and tha "right" chip/pressure for what your usin' it for.........jmo

My 97 ROS 260 has an A24 box, which is bad, but I have never been able to find any info on it. Anyone else have any experience with one? What would replace it?

Brucato's ACU is the best way to go if you can afford it. I just haven't had deep pockets this year so far.. I have put the ACU's on customers boats and they all say it is way better than the Merc box ever was. That's mostly on fishin motors but I see advantages on any motor with them.. Easy to just fine tune them in just right.
