Hi guys first time poster, ive been reading these forums alot lately as i just aquired a cougar cub 10ft and thought i could use the knowladge of all of you so here goes.

i have a 80hp blueband mercury motor laying around and a 10ft cougar cub so my idea is to do the insane and put them together lol :). I know its not as simple as just bolt on and jump in the water but here are my ideas.

1st is extend the 2 hulls 1.5ft out from the transom a little like a swim deck but flush with the bottom

2nd cut and shut the cabin area 1ft or so forward.

3rd combination of both.

i will also be strengthening the whole entire hull and transom with at least 2 extra layers of glass where required.

so what do you guys recon? I have composites (glass) experience as im an apprentice aircraft tech. Is it doable? </SPAN>

I'm fairly new to scream & fly also. Alot of good info hear. The members are very helpful. Keep something in mind. How heavy is that motor. When you let off the throttle are you going to get water over the transom. How about the biggest 2 cylinder 50hp and doing a little work to it. I'm all for something differant. I'm building a 27' wellcraft excaliber twin evinrude 300 plus v8s.

Keep power head low, raise transom extensions above bottom of sponson running surface, will help boat fly straight, float powerhead and also help to get on plane. Get a good DAH over hub hands down best surfacing prop for midrange outboards.
