Can you run a mercruiser trim pump on a 2.5?? I want to pick up trim speed. Thanks

Yes you can. The Mercruiser pumps don't have the bleed problem that the Merc HiPo pumps do. I think the Mercruiser pump are also lighter.

Bob's Machine has a pump for their jackplates that is alot less than the mercruiser pump. It is the same thing just has a different mounting bracket. Mercs bracket number is 42419A1 order it mount Bob's pump on it and you have saved yourself about $400. I have been using this set up for 5 years and not had a problem and your right it will really increase trim speed. You will have to get some addapters for the hoses for either pump the hose ends are not the same as the pump any hydralic shop will have them for less than $20 for both. Greg

Rick I thought Bob's had the best price of anybody I had found. I sell a lot of them every year and have looked for the best price. I guess I need to keep looking if you found em cheaper I need to also. Greg
