View Full Version : What are the differences between 2.4 200 and bridgeport
I know the difference in the block, are the pistons different? and how about the ignition parts, and carbs? Is it possible to convert a 200 to a bridgeport by changing the block and a few other parts? What's involved? Thanx

the pistons have a flat milled on the side so it doesn't come in contact with the bridge. some other differences are:
big rods, 7 petal front, light flywheel, 1 piece exhaust plate. probably other stuff i can't think of.

definately not an easy swap...
you are better off finding a complete 2.4L bridgeport, or even better a new 2.5L powerhead. Plus, 2.4L bridgeport parts are getting more scarce, especially pistons.
