O.K. Now This Is Something That I Don't Think Ive EverSeen....
YEARS Ago, I helped est uo a Allison XB2002 for a buddy of mine to run in the OPC Kelo Races in Knoxville Tenn.
The Boat had a STOCK 2.4 oval port Hi-PO motor on it with a very good XR-4 gear case.
We set a record of 111.994 MPH (two way average)....The Boat Would Run FASTER THAN THAT!!!;);)
Now Fast Forward...I Have A "No Wood" 1995 comp. model. With A GOOD DRAG MOTOR/280/Modified 200++ It Strugles to get to 110(+/-)
Now, I'm SURLY NOT pickin'n my boat or Shooks World Record Boat or anybody's FAST Bass Boat BUT, on it's BEST DAY That 2.4 made...235/240 MAX???My DRAG MOTOR Made 300++ So, With the exception of David Pou Or Glen Reynolds, I'm Just Curious Has Anybody Else Seen This?
Also, I Have A buddy with a 87' model for sale...He has a TIRED!!!! 2.4 ovel-port motor bass mid with a POS gearcase...It runs 101+++ Now, I wouldn't bolt his gear=case up to any of my motors! But, That Speed Was With TWO Hand Held GPS'S!!! The Boat Is Just FAST!!!

Just Curious IF anybody Has Seen This??? No Pissin" Contests" Just Curious...Thanks Mike T.:cheers:

That old 2.4 probably had the motor jacked to the moon didn't it. Do you remember what prop he ran. Your XB probably isn't set on kill. I'm sure it's got some one teens in it

With all that being said I do think some hulls are just inherently faster than others of the exact same model

A friend of mine has a 1999 XB-2002 Tournement that he had a 2000ym drag on that ran in the 113-114 range with three batteries and the trolling motor as I recall.
He may take have taken the T/M off when he ran that fast, I don't remember but I do know it had all three batteries in it for sure.
The one your friend had may have been a light model that was built to race.

Actually Eric, We Ran...and set a record...with Hoss Props That David Pou Still Has...Last I Talked To Him...I Mite Be Dead Wrong BUT, If I'm Not Mistaken, The "Older" XB2002's Were lighter than the newer boats. My boat weighs around 800-lbs. Ricks boat...and it had carpet and all the pumps worked...weighed around 700-lbs (Maybe ever a little lighter) I was just wondering IF there was a difference in maybe the pad? NOW Mines No Slouch! It Would Pack My Old S.S.2000's AZZ Without much problem, BUT Were Talking about 100-HP Difference in the STOCK 2.4 oval port verses a drag of any year! Just Curious If Anyone Ever Saw A Difference.?

When it comes to production boats, cars, bikes etc. there are always the ones that run exceptionally well! Isn't 110 a decent # for your every day 02. And I'm sure there is more left in yours if the HP is there. You just have to find it. Let me know when you want to start looking for it. :)

As I understand it, all XB2002's have come out of the same mold so they're all the same. I bet if you were taking yours to a kilo run you'd spend some time setting it up and get more out of it than 110.

The XB-2002's hulls have not changed since they were introduced.
There were some ultra light one's built for race purpose's only up until the early 90's, Darris qiut building them because people were adding pumps and selling them for true bass boats which they were not intended to be used for.
The only changes the 02's have seen were two or three years ago when Darris changed the console design along with the rear deck lid hump.
