Is this possible? Only been at this boating thing for 4 yrs and still learning.

I have a 89 200 looper with over prop exhaust looking for more bow lift.

Sugestions?

tell us more about your boat/set up!! SRX props work great with loopers!

i just put a 225Ho on my stoker, OMC motor, had DAH clean up a 27 srx and the prop is the only one to really get the bow up and get the boat moving. Not sure about your question, a srx is over the hub while my 4 blade shooter is through hub. What prop/boat/motor are you running

I have a 89 200 looper on a 17 deep vee custom hull made by a guy Neil McGrath in the long beach island area of NJ.

Right now I have a 14 1/2'' x 28P cleaver and it will stick the nose straight up in the air when you hit the gas but takes a long long time to plane up.. Looking for a better all around prop that will hole shot quicker but not sacrafice the top end tremendously.

Similar experience here- OMCs on deep vee hulls. The hubless choppers and cleavers took forever to get on plane. When they did, the cleavers would not give enough bow lift, the SRX and SST-RX choppers lifted the bow nicely. On both of my rigs, I ended up going to thru-hub Rakers- the original Raker, often called a Raker 1 today. I had the Rakers reworked by having a bit of tip cup added which increased the height I could run the engine at and maintain bite, and added a bit more bow lift. In both cases, the modified Rakers ran within 1 mph of the best of the choppers and planing was easy. On the smaller of these rigs- an 18 footer, I had Turbo suggest what they sold (in the 1980s) as a Turbo II- a thru hub prop- which looked a lot like a Raker, but was slightly smaller in diameter. This prop ran just as fast as the best chopper and planed like the Raker. I suggest you find an old Raker and try it out- they are fairly easy to buy cheap or borrow. I don't believe they make the Turbo II anymore, and not many of them were sold compared to the Raker.

I use the shooter in the Barnegat Bay to get the bow up quick in case it's rough or going through some big wakes getting to tices. Very quick out of the hole but top end and bow lift isn't there. Great for carrying a heavy load or tubing. It is not a slow prop but the Srx I am using now outperforms it but hole shot is slower. I tried a 28 pitch 3 blade Mazco and it was not that great, much to my surprise. Call the guys at DAH they are very helpful.
