So I got "called out" by a few guys at the St Johns run for rollin up with my rough looking trailer....lol
She is in the process of being re-fit and will be looking sharp next time out. New dual axles, wheels, fenders ( will be powder coated black, polished diamond plate running boards, and new welded uprights and stanchion. Got some tricks I plan on doing with some LED lights too... For what trailers cost these days, I can do all this for a fraction of the cost to replace with something similar.
Here are the wheels mounted up on the new custom axles ...

Me too!!! lol It was either roll out dirty or not show up at all. I knew I would take a verbal beating from all angles.:D
At least my boat cover wraps down the sides and up under the boat to protect it when trailering...
On a side note, setting up a trailer the right way can be fun...figuring out axle loads, torsion angle heights, max tire load, wheel widths, offsets, bore size, fender length and width, overall tire size, center of gravity , ect ect . My goal is to drop the boat down as close to the fenders and frame as possible.

I use Dynabeads in all my tires / wheels .... Never have to look at another ugly wheel weight or go to a shop for balancing!
If you have never used them, it's never to late to start.

I had heard of those beads, but did not think to check into them much. I just ordered for my 2001 diesel lifted F350 4x4 running 36's. They are hard to keep balanced , BFG All Terrians.
Thanks for the link to the beads. Now my tires will soon have their own balls !

Before photos... The fiberglass fenders were cracked and just really "dated" the trailer. The boat sits so high too so getting it as low as possible is what Im going after. The actual aluminum frame is in great shape and is made from extruded aluminum with a rub rail insert along the inside frame rails that all the wiring is hid in.. pretty neat. Its the only one I have ever seen like this.

Dropped the boat 7" in the rear, 5 " in the front... new fenders, tires, wheels , axles, ect ect... now just waiting for all the LED lights.
Have not decided whether or not I like the steps polished... might powder coat them black down the road....

Nice work, what's the coating/paint on the fenders (looks a bit like bedliner) and do you know what was used as a primer over the galvanize ? Been wanting to paint mine, but having trouble finding a finish that sticks

Adam, ever use the Dyna Beads in a car tire? I've got to put new skins on the BBB (Beater Bomb Buick) and am seriously thinking about them!
Nice work with the trailer. You will LOVE how it'll float off & on easier by lowering it!

It is bed liner, a friend of mine did it as a " test"... it stuck but not like glue. I'll see how long it lasts but I foresee alum diamond plated fenders in the far off future ( powder coated black of course ).
I have used Dyna beads in all my vehicles for the last 10 years... from 200 mph Ducati to my big Jeeps... Truthfully I dont think anything works better. When it comes to jeeps / trucks I have a list of things they get which includes but not limited to Bilstein 5100 shocks on all 4, good tires aired with at least 75% Nitrox, and dyna beads.

Adam , Diamond Plate Fenders Suck , when they get ahold of the bottom of your boat . Not as likely with a tunnel hull , but it does happen .
Makes a serious mess out of your gel coat !

Line-X can spray there new coatings almost as flat as paint/powder and in high gloss any color you want. I have a connection with the shop in Sarasota/Bradenton if your interested and he is one of oly two shops using the XPS650 coating. Very cool stuff.

Very cool... there is only one line-x brand shop in Jax and they are almost done. Used to be several back in the day. The franchise
seems to be up on the technology though which is good. Thanks for the info.

Briam who owns the shop in Bradenton runs a 24 Yellowfin Bay boat that is badazz and he travels all over the state doing mobil stuff too. The guy is seriously motivated and.....lets call it enthusiastic! He will talk your ear off but in a good way and loves boats. Their shop is doing factory coating worl for Yellowfin as well as some other local builders. They did all the coating work on the Texas Highway Patrol gunboats recently. They are working hard to get the gloss finish colored coatings as smooth as powder coating. He showed me stuff sprayed in white that looked damn close! My trailer is galvanized and I am thinking about having him shoot it too match the boat.
Im trying to find pics of the new Nortech 39 center console SKA boat. It has a seriously pimped trailer complete with LEDS that light up the underside of the boat.

I have 14 of those little lights coming... 7 down each side pointing up... clear LED strip lights (3-5) for tail lights and various clear LED markers. Boat will appear to be floating down the road... great for those 6 am runs !! :)
