I have question about setup because I don’t think I’m getting the full potential out of my boat. But then again maybe I am. This is the setup 6 ½ inches set back. Nose cone even with pad on a Allison X/B 2002 2.5 260 on 20 inch mid. prop is a 29 Mazco turning it about 7300 rpms Lower unit has Bobs Nose cone and Low water pickup. It seems I should be able to turn it a bit harder than this am I missing something the other thread made mention of different setbacks but I did not make note of these.
Would you go with more setback more or less on engine height which is about all I can do at this point should I invest in more set back and what is the advantage of doing so.
Thanks for any input.
Even with 10% slip that boat should be running right at 100mph with the RPM and wheel you turning. I say thats damn good for an XB if you running a stock 260. What kind of ECU you got on that 260? How about the rev-limiter what is it set at, or does it even have one?

It is A CDI rebuilt a 48 last time i had a gps in it 7100 rpms @ 92 mph. No rev Limiter. Last sunday No Gps but 7300 rpms. I think there was some more left but it did not fill comfortable it really wanted to get squirly.

10" seems to be the norm on XB02's. Have you asked anyone at http://pub22.ezboard.com/ballisonownersmessageboard ?
