Well,I know Gordon won't come on here to brag about his new River Rocket,so I thought I'd do it for him..He brought it over to the Sebring get together and I gotta say I was VERY impressed..We all know Jack builds a beautiful boat but this thing is gorgious..The rigging is flawless and the Etech with the 12" mid and sportmaster is sick..Took me for a ride and this thing pulls hard all the way to the top..I saw 111 mph with 2 people and not the best of conditions and there is much more there with some tweeking..He had just picked the boat up from Jack on Wednesday(2nd time in the water) and just threw a prop on there for the event...Gordon-I love your new boat and I hate you for havin it............greg

Saw it the day before it left Jacks, very cool ride. I mentioned to Ray that it was nice to see these guys getting back into pleasure

I don't think I would of built my boat the same color as anybody's when I talked to Jack at Jasper last year I told him I wanted a black bottom and a white deck, he said it would look good. He never said Gordon's boat was going to be the same, I am a 100% sure that mine was the first one. And you are right Kevin, it will be for sale tomorrow....

These new "green" motors are the wave of the future and I think they have a lot of potential..Most impressed with the power band--no flat spots at any rpm and LOTS of torque...I wish BRP would show some interest in developing these things...........

So tell me about the e-tec motors. Are they good race motors or just lake motors? How much horsepower, and how do they compare to a Merc? Not many around these parts.

I'm tired of waiting for some one else to make power and the lack of RPM (700 more rpm would be perfect). Since its a low port tired 200 its a turd now with the 1.85/34p I dont think im going to even bother putting a 1.62 under it, will only make it worse. I'm giving it a few months then its getting a mean carb 3.3 that will twisst.

Monty's has the above problems fixed, big power to turn big gears, 6800rpm :thumbsup:

I Knew he did but don't think that's a service he offers. I think he turned Bobby Sr's 7K at the 200 shoot out.

Bush cannot remove the limiter yet either. The 3.4 blocks are so restrictive they will never be able to twist and make power. The exhaust is about half the size of a 3.3 and the runners are even worse. Sub 7k seems to be the way to go. Gordon told me saturday that he turned his 7110 accidentally but it would turn 29 srx 6800 at 111 not bad for the 2nd time off the trailer :thumbsup: Rays has gone quite a bit faster with the big prop.

I didnt know about his accident hope he heals up 100%, Im sorry to hear about his brother (found out saturday). I have not called him in 6-8 months so I should have been more clear in my post. I would never expect him to answer in his current situation.

The point of my post was supposed to be E-tecs have been out for over 7 years and there are only 8 limit-less/tuned boxes in the country. No wonder everyone runs mercs they have been able map the boxes since the beginning of time. I will edit my post accordingly, I did not mean make it seem like the post was only directed at bush sorry it seemed that way. :thumbsup: If your boat was as slow as mine you'd understand my frustration :D

it's good to see another e-tec out there but what i find funny is when ever someone down below the mason Dixon line has a project everyone is cool bad a$$ way to go not 1 negative comment from merc or omc/brp guys but if a guy from the north does it it turns into a you know what show i know first hand how fast these motors are i lost enough to test a butt load just to keep up PS this is just an opinion

gordon's boat is an engineering work of art, why is it people can't appreciate that and always feel that they have to tear something down? incidentally, a couple of guys here(name unmentioned) have had etecs turning over 7k rpm years ago, probably before etec 1 w/ the connections they have.

Merc this merc that I'm die hard omc even had a few etecs at the moment I got about 4 etecs 4 merc 300x a bunch of v6 loopers n 2 of gordans 4.0 400+ers boh are great brands n each have there own issues at time but no need to put gordans hard work to industry n his beautiful river rocketDown half the smack talkers have less minutes at this sport than gordan has hours running testing n just doing him

I bought t new 3.0 sports for my 25 action got about 2 hours on the right n prop shaft just broke off getting on plane I ain't start no crazy Thread about payn 95000 for a 2 hour boat ride!!!!
But yes TNT gave me a new lower n prop

Rich, I would love to. But, I'm not writing for anyone anymore who would be interested in such a story. If I were, I'd be there in a heartbeat, as well as attending some more gatherings to write about (as well as to identify cool boats at said gatherings to write future stories on!).
