Anyone got any feedback on Sea King ESC'S or Turnigy models?. Lookin for another inexpensive 120 amp ESC.. I have a Castle Creations 120 amp but want an inexpensive reliable 120 ESC as a backup.. Thanks, Ryan

I have been running the turnigy 120's for a while in all of my spec powered hulls and I have not had a failure yet. I won the Spec Rigger class at the 2011 Namba FE Nats running a turningy 120 with a aquacraft 2030 motor. I have not run the Sea king esc's so I can't offer any input on those.

It seems that the Turnigy is the one of choice by feedback from other sources also. Thanks obrien for the feedback...

Im running a Pro Boat Stiletto 29 with the Castle 120.. Man did it make a huge difference stepping up to 6S (22.2 Volts) and still running the 1800 KV motor that came with it. You really gotta get ur timing and expo dialed in or it WILL blow over, and also completely turn over sideways out the hole. This is my first RC Boat so I'm still in a learning curve. I really think I need more prop, but don't know what would work best. A 3 blade cleaver style or stay with the 2 blade with more pitch and diameter. Anybody got any feedback on that? Thanks Ryan

On my spec tunnels I run a modified 42 x 55 grim racer prop. My motor is a UL-1 with the turnigy 120 on 4s. That set up is great for heat racing and speeds in the low 50's if I had to guess. The octura props like a m442 or an x442 would probably work. I am not sure if you can get a 45 mm prop under the cav plate on your motor. Just keep an eye on your temps when you are proping it.

Thanks for the info. I have looked at the octura props and grim racer. If the 45mm prop won't fit under the cav plate then I guess I will just have to experiment with more pitch and try some 3 blade props. Thanks for the info.

If the 45 mm is close, you can always trim it down a little bit. that way you can take advantage of the high pitch.
