"If it fits, it sh!ts" :D That's funny! and so true!

At least my UPS guy apologized and handed it to me in person and asked me to check it out before I excepted it.
Every time I see a UPS truck I can't help but think of that video on youtube of the UPS driver hurling the
computer monitor over a 6ft fence.... That video and Jim Carey in Pet detective kicking the box down the hall-lol

Wayne, they didn't give a $hit when I sent them the video of the 300xs cowl sucking in water like a shop vac- I highly
doubt they would revamp their shipping methods over this. But your probably right, I have a rep's email- I will at least make an effort.

What no rust? you done good, Got one not long ago had some rust not on machined surfaces but still rust. The money you pay for that crap it should be packed way better.

Adam,
You should see how much water dumps out of the exhaust port next to the flush attachment on the 3.2's while running them on a dyno, I think if there was a deflector of some type just above the port the problem would be solved.
Mercury may not reply to what you sent them but I bet most of the engineers have seen the video and will change something in the near future to take care of the problem.
Those envelopes they send shafts in are pretty tough, (Try ripping one open) and the wraping on the shaft protects it as you witnessed. I'm pretty sure UPS could destroy an anvil!!!

Near future....like the 13+ years it took them to add a second bearing to the Opti air compressors and cross their fingers that it helps? Maybe that water ingestion is a planned cooling system for the compressor.

You have to give them some credit: of those 13 years, it took 5 to fix the basic design problems so that the Optis ran long enough for the compressors to get a chance to blow up. So, we are really only talking about 8 years.

Ha !!! I just cannot imagine any company shipping a part of that cost , weight , and sensitive nature without primary and secondary packaging . Totally unacceptable . Part should be packaged to survive a throw from the truck onto concrete without damage .

Kev , empty your mailbox !!!!
