Anybody know of a flusher that is made other than the one Bob's makes to fit a Bob's nose cone that the water feeds from the bottom? The new style that Bob's makes with the water hose on the side SUCKS the weight of the hose separates it from the cone and will not give very good pressure. I have asked them to make the old style and you can guess how far that went. Also they are not making the old style 2.5 cowlings and I need one for a customer does any one make them still?
We still offer the earlier 2.5 style cowlings. $449.00 w/lower shroud and decals.

Land and Sea has a nice flush tool. I bought one a few years ago, and still use it.

Thanks Rick I ussually buy 6 or 8 of them to keep in stock but the way Bob's new ones are I am not going to sell them any more. They SUCK like I said before. To prop up the hose for every different motor hieght that i have to work on is a pain in the butt. They do not supply water to the motor as good as the flushers that feed from the bottom. I will get one of Land and seas flushers and give it a look. I need something to keep instock and will not inventory Bob's any more.

The Land and Sea has kind of a loop at the front, and I hook a bungie cord to the hose and go around the unit above the prop and back to the hose to keep it on the nose. It works.

Get a piece of 3in diameter exaust hose about 8 in long. Put a plastic sewer cap in one end than cut a notch in the other end so it fits over the point of the gearcase. Get 2 small eye hooks , put both on the end with the plastic sewer cap ,one on each side.. than hold it on to the gearcase with a bungi cord . get a hose fitting and install it in the center of the plastic cap end . NOW YOU HAVE THE BEST WATER FLUSHER IN THE WORLD !!!!

works best for me!....keeps the noise down some and I can walk away with confidence should the phone ring or something. Can even put motor in gear at idle and make minor adjustments. Add a little Joy soap to keep the oil scum manageable!

The Cattle Feed Tank is a great idea, just kinda hard to keep in my sixth floor apartment.

a good alternative might be Merc's 848703A1 for the CLE or 848998A1 for the Sportmaster...though for the money ProMax 300 may be onto something!!
Just for the heck of it, I had my machinist weld a piece of pipe into the exhaust adapter plate under the powerhead. There's a fitting on the end of it that I can screw in a coupling for a garden hose. This pipe goes into the large cavity where water enters the adapter. My thinking was that whenever I wanted to run my engine on the dyno I could run a garden hose in there as well as still feed the water pump with the unit submerged in the feed tank. I've found that just using the feed tank does not supply sufficient volumn when on the dyno at WOT, but with the additional supply into the adapter plate theres plenty of water. I can actually adjust the pressure I want to see with the faucet.
Also, in the future if I even think I need to run higher up on the jack and not worry about water I can run a transom pickup and feed the adapter plate. I see some of the late model high performance adapters now come set up for transom pickups.
No reason why one couldn't get a good flush of their powerhead without running the engine by using the adapter plate setup. By the way, the pipe runs "through" the area in the adapter where water exits the port head...was a bit worried that the space voided by the pipe might somehow interfere with exiting water flow....but so far so problems....have close to 10 hours on the engine and she stays under 130 on both head temp guages at 6000 rpm. Have 25psi at speed (I'm running stock poppet valve setup, but I'm using 120 degrees therms in place of the 143's).
