A day to go shopping ( witch usually turns into a boxing match in the parking lots ) , drink and just a day off .
Hope all is well Gary !!
Jeff .
Thank you!! To echo Jeff, it's a day off for us (not sure there's a real meaning to it.....) where shopping is at a premium; year end thing. Our office was also given today off.....too bad the waters hard:mad: Any how, hope everyone had a mery x-mas and wish you a great new yaer. Hey Yammer, was going through my box of old Yamaha parts and discovered I had a set of...........220 heads! Randy Pierson (Avon Marine) had set up this rig before I bought it and knows the boat and motor quite well. Should be a faster summer coming up:D :D

Its an old English tradition.
On Xmas day the gifts were placed under the tree and left overnight.
The next day (Boxing Day) ,the gift boxes were given out and opened.
Hence "Boxing Day".
We have that as a holliday in OZ too.
:D  :p

I celebrate it here too.
Hell, its an extra day to PARTY.
:D :D :D
Good One!!!! We should have that as a holiday; we're pretty big on our hockey. Our Junior team beat Sweden 8-2 last night at the World Junior Tournament being held in Halifax.
I'm heading off to the community outdoor rink today w/ a few buddies for a good ol' game of shinny w/ the kids over there. We throw our sticks into in middle of the rink and we chose teams that way. It's minus 16 degrees celsius and sunny today; great day for a skate!!!!
Thanks Ken; I was likely informed of that years ago. Heck, I should know that off hand; I've lived here my whole life (31 yrs):D
p.s- Gary, Lennox Lewis fought for Canada in the Olympics back in.......I forget, but he has dual citizen ship for Britain and Canada.

talk's British so he doesn't count.
Try again!;)
How about Donny Lalonde? He fought Sugar Ray back in 88'. He lost but he's from Canada. Heck, he's from my town of Winnipeg. He has come out of retirement again and is making a run at a world title. :D
That's all I've got now. I like your disqualification based on his accent; that was good:D
Flat Out

I remember Donny Lalonde (does the "La" part make him French Canadian:D ), what is he like 105 ;)
P.S. don't tell him I said that ;)
I'm not sure what that is..........
He's 42. I was just on yahoo checking it out. He was the WBC World Light weight Champ in 87, then lost in to Leonard in 88.
He had a bum hand and wonky shoulder all of which are good enough now to make him think he can win another world title:eek:  He has looked pretty good in his tune up matches, however

if it was in '87 he must have moved up to fight Leonard at 147 Welter weight limit!
42, kewl, one for us old guys;)
P.S. would have liked to have seen hiom beat Leonard! Not much of a fan or runners pretending to be fighters:eek:
at the Wiinipeg Arena. They had some big screens set up and packed the place. Lalonde knocked Sugar down in the 4th (might have been 6th) but lost it in the 9th. Lalonde looked good though; I THINK he's in at 177 or something now? Could be wrong but that number sticks out in my mind; he's 6'1

BILLY "the kid" ERwin best fly weight of all time
good one; your right!! I was actually going to mention that name. I'm no boxer but those are some pretty popular boxers. There are more but perhaps if someone else reads this thread, they can help us out; unless you have a few?
