I promise I searched but couldn't find a good answer. Looking to ditch the limiter on my XRi 200. It's a '93 so I can't recurve it. I had thought it would be similar to my old Looper with removing some wires on the switchboxes but I haven't found out how.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance

I don't believe that '93 has one. Could be wrong but I've worked on several of those motors and never had 1 come into play. I would ditch the high speed low speed stabilizer and the oil injection if you plan on turning it past 6K. Also the detonation module.

Oil injection was the first thing gone along with the boxes that went along with it. It's been long enough since I read the directions I'm not sure what those boxes did.
Forgive my ignorance but waht are the high/low speed stabilers and the detonation module and where are they located?
I haven't changed the rod bolts YET but plan on it when I get some things done over the winter. Probably won't see passed 7K until the bolts are changed.

Bump for some info
If your revs are limited, it's because your motor is only ported to make real power within a reasonable RPM range to begin with, unless you spin a really short-pitched prop. Even if it had a limiter, you would have little or nothing to gain by removing it. ;)

I'm spinning a 28 Trophy at the moment on a stock XRi. I know I'm out of power right there. However, I guess I'll throw on the 24 Chopper or 22 drag and see if it's there.
There are plans for heads/ported intake/reeds etc... sooner than later. I was just working on getting my ducks in a row before I run into a road block somewhere. :)
Thanks for the heads up though, no rev limiter.
How about the detonation module and high/low speed stabilizer?
I never did bump my timing up after removing the oil injection. I assume it's 24 degrees if I remember?
As far as nothing to gain? I don't care if I make the same HP at 6K as I do 8K, I'd like to be able to USE the RPM to run a shorter pitch prop to get this thing out of the hole better and run the same MPH with the added R's for some weekend class racing. :)

timing is probably 22 if not less, idle stabilizer. detonation bx are the two boxs on the top of the motor behind the flywheel maybe one is on the side but none the less remove all three you dont need them .you have the small exhaust ramp block and a little lower port timing there is no rev limter your motor will only run the curve thats in the ecu which matches your port timing. most likly wont see 6400rpms unless your cavitating a small wheel then your just spinning the prop but going no where, best deal is save your money buy a 225 pmax i have had 3 of them they run good just my .02 good luck

Thanks for the heads up. The motor has reved to 6800 before the re-core of the boat spinning a 28 small ear. Lots of slip due to the recore I'm sure though.
