After a day of boating, I occasionally get a few tablespoons of water in the center bilge and one side or the other. It drives me crazy that the drains plugs are slightly higher than the bottom, leaving room for a little water to sit. If you leave it and cover the boat, it just gets musky and foul. 
I cut some strips from a "Sham Wow" towl and soaked them in water. Then, crank up the tongue jack and just put them in the open drain holes, let them hang them down 6-8 inches and the remaining water siphons right out to the floor. A piece of rope will do the same thing as long as it is not synthetic.
