Just wanted to say hey and introduce myself before I started asking tons of questions, my name is David Patton and I live in North Carolina. I am not really up to speed on boats, but i have what i think is an old Duo mystry! The boat has been passed down through my family, and now its mine. If you have any questions feel free to ask...Also any info provided about my boat would be greatly appreiciated considering i cant find anything online about it.

I wish i could tell you alot about it, but i dont know much lol. Heres what i do know, my grandpa found the boat rotted out in a field in north carolina. He did the repair work, and fiberglass work then installed a yamaha 150 etlk engine. When i was younger we skied and tubed behind the boat, and had an occasional race on the local lake. my dad bought the boat from my grandpa, and now i have bought it from him. it has been a great boat but now its time for me to learn about it. For many years i have been working on street cars and drag cars so im sure i can get some more speed out of this boat. I took it out for the first time this weekend and it went 52 mph with a 25m prop. I had 420 lbs of people, a cooler, tackle, and rods in the boat. I have a quicksilver 26p prop im going to try out hopefully this weekend with less weight in the boat and see how it goes.

The fact that your boat has been in your family for a long time, would lead one to believe you have a fair amount of seat in her.Just keep in mind that as your speed keeps going up, that flat nose can, and will at some point really start to lift.Point is be careful and dont blow grandpas boat over. Also as your speed goes up give that bottom and transom a good preflight.Looks like a fun boat!
