Saw my lower unit was dripping out the prop shaft guess the seal went bad about how much will it cost to fix ? Should I just buy another ? And then get it fixed to have a spare trying to get the boat back in the water ASAP so didn't know how much I should expect to pay before I call the mech thanks

What was dripping? Water, oil? If it is a two stroke engine, oily exhaust residue will run out of the gearcase. Take the lower unit drain screw out and see if any water or milky oil comes out. Depending on the make engine, fix could be a prop shaft seal, shift shaft seal or drive shaft seal. Some are inexpensive fixes others not so inexpensive.

It's a merc it's definitely that seal around the prop shaft leaking slightly milky oil but could more wrong sounds smooth in there and was working fine when I put it on the trailer

Probably just have the case resealed, probably around 250 bucks, but that's a guess, rates vary quite a lot depending on your location.

Older cases can wear a groove in the prop shaft where the seal rides, but can sometimes can be worked around by installing the seal at a slightly different depth to avoid the groove. Worst case, it may need a prop shaft.

I would drain all of the oil out until you have it pressure tested. Get that water out of there.
