Hey all dumb question but for some reason I thought I was told one ran at 15-20 psi at wot and the other at 25-30. Is this correct and if so which was which.
Thanks all getting old slow and forgetfull sucks!

water pressure has a lot of variables not associated to cubic inches

Okay but is there an acceptable average, what do most of you see on your gauges?
Thanks geoff

If you are seeing 25-30 on a 260, you have problems somewhere. My 280 usually runs 0 psi at idle, 4-6 psi in the midrange and 10-12 psi when strung out.

Thanks bobalouie thats what I seem to recall, I am getting good pressure from pissers at back of engine, temp seems good but gauge only shows 5 at wot. Its a Livorsi, pulled line at both ends blew through no restrictions. gonna pull lower and have a look at pump and impeller

I have had a similar question lately....The best I can remember my 260 had about ~5 at idle, 7-10 cruising, and 10-15 WOT. I put a new Livorsi gauge, line, and new lower with impeller on recently. First trip on the water and it was at 0 at idle, 5-7 cruising, 10-15 WOT? Maybe its just an accurate gauge now?
Can someone confirm the correct pressure for a 260/2.5 ROS? Should it be that same as the 280 referenced above?

Yes, they use the same cooling system. Just look at your 2 dump hoses, as long as you have water coming out of them at idle (usually more from the stbd than from port) and you have the pressures you referenced above, you are fine.
