I have 19 ft laser basser with pad V completely redone, I am wondering if anyone has an idea or experience or can tell me if the new merc. 3.0 set back on a 5-inch cmc hyd jack plate on this boat will be a good choice. I know it is aprox 100lb heavier than the 2.5 but just curious if anyone has a set up close to this even if it is the 380 ray V, or any other light boat under 20 ft. I know they run fine on the bullets and allisons at or over 20'. Any input or advice is greatly appreciated.

I ran a 380 19' kevlar hull center steer with a 200 XP Evinrude on the back, 5" Bobs Machine Shop Hydrolic transom jack. The motor weighed around 450 lbs. The boat liked the weight in the back. I would put a cooler behind the rear seat.

The 380 is a big, wide boat with lots of freeboard and a wide transom footprint. It's been rigged many times over the years with 3-liter OMCs and Mercs. It will do fine.

It also depends on what type of water you will be running in and how solid the transom is to begin with.

I have a 380 Ray that i converted to center steer, no floor, etc and I'm running a 06' 225HO Evinrude E-Tec (504lbs). I just rigged that motor on this spring (was running a MOD 235). The boat handles the motor fine. Im still working on getting the boat set-up , i got to move some stuff around to balance it better. Currently im running about 7'' set-back. 15 gal fuel tank, battery and oil tank are mounted back by the transom. I had to add some weight under the bow for a minute but i want to move the battery forward, probly right behind the drivers seat. Then i might be able to remove some of the weight under the bow... As long as your boat is solid you shouldnt have any problems.

Thanks again guys, Yes, i think I will be good..... a little info, here is what i have........19 ft dual console, fish and play......lol, Pulled boat completely apart removed bad flotation from under floor, completely removed floor, and wood layer from transom. Took it to professional, had 3/8 composite floor no flotation under floor removed all extra weight and compartments not needed from front cap, Had composite stacked transom layered with resin and sawdust No rear stringer or transom support rot, only rot in transom was where it seperated from glass on very back... Removed one livewell in rear, and is now dry storage. Have replaced everything thru hull fittings, lines, hoses in case i still want to fish...All wiring etc. Have currently installed Hydro turf on floor and all I have left is the front and rear deck to cover with same. Completly wet sanded hull twice 800 then 1200, shine is back. Guestimating hull to be 257561257562 900# Looking to run low 90s light, mid- upper 80s fishing load. What yall think? couple pics ,torn down, and in tow last trip to glass shop glass in splashwell to transom and spray rear end with gelcoat.
