Cold shower. I've also heard that a lint roller helps.

Try olive oil in the tub after scrubbing down with cool water in the shower 1st.

-really works too!

This is a trade secret so keep it under your hat ;)
Cold to tepid shower - rub hair conditioner in to the skin gently - leave it on a few minutes - wash it off. This will remove most of the fibres.
p.s. I use Pantene Pro V.
p.p.s No I don't work for pantene!!!

I use shampoo, maybe the same effect as conditioner, I've never tried. Scrub yourself dry afterwards with the towel. it seems to pull it from the pores.

Tyvek suit next time. Prevention is easier.

A few jack and cokes would always help me forget about the itchies. All other methods above will help too.

Pyro I had just taken the suit off and got an extra set of hands to remove the front cleat that was bolted so I slid under the deck and need I say more. Thanks everybody for the advice and this is the last boat I will ever do. Note I have said this before. thanks Rick

Any muscle topical pain reliever with salicylic acid (a form of aspirin) like Bengay. My calves were sore as heck from squatting grinding out a set of stringers. I was itching like crazy too. I put that on and it nearly went away all together.

Those Tyvek suits are great when it's winter:D

Been grinding a few weeks ago in the sun with tyvek, dustmask, ear protectors, gloves.
I must say it's worse than just itch for a day so next time I will leave the Tyvek out!

I never used the baby powder although I already ehard before it should help. I should get some industrial talc and try it out.
Hot shower makes it worse thats for sure! But a cold shower is not fun either unless it's realy hot!

Scrape a credit card down the skin. It pulls the fibers out.

rubbing conditioner on yourself is a new one I havent heard before

there are dust muzzles for grinders, vacuums, suits, fans- use all of these , powder yourself up then just learn to suck it up bit. The itch never goes away you just learn to live with it

a DRY bar of soap. rub it on your dry skin and the fibers stick in it and come out. duct tape works great as well.

The cold water thing does help some, and I always use the method and usually right after exposure I use a garden hose and spray my arms with a strong spray from the top of the affected area toward the hand... I've also used facial cleanser mask, and peel it off when it dries like a chic does... One thing for sure is I've never been able to eliminate getting struck by those godless fibers, and it does make for an uncomfortable day...

While your in the shower, have your girl cover the bed in plastic. When you get out and dry off, have her rub you down with some chilled chocolate syrup, then she can, Oh wait! thats for something else! Never mind. Heeheheheeehee, REW

grab a pair of your wifes/girlfriends/Signifigant others/ or your own depending on how you roll:reddevil: pantyhose stretch them over your hand and rub in one direction with them....those suckers grab a hold of everything and the itching is gone....Just dont give them back afterwards or there will be a very unhappy day for you in the future.....

also the powder before and cold shower after does wonders too....

I see a whole lot of experience on this subject. I have got to finish the floor with glass a little more fairing and hopefully go to prime. This is way above my ability but the help on here has given me alot of knowledge. thanks again Rick

fairing aint bad, its the grinding of glass that is bad

I asked a guy that did attic insulation about that one day.....he said the cold water closes your pores, (hot water does the opposite), and rubbing in one direction keeps from driving the glass in deeper....
