boat wreck ????

had 2 calls this am asking if I know about a speedboat crash , pretty bad one , 3 involved ( 1 driver 2 passengers ) 1st guy said he thought it was on walter f. ,or martin , 2nd thought it was on seminole. I checked the local news site's . I got nothing.anybody heard anything:confused:

Gary McIntosh out of Sneads and his wife, cable pulley or bolt broke ejecting them. Boat did not go over just hooked speed was 50 or so. Gary has a broke arm, collar bone and cut on his leg and 2 black eyes. His wife I think broke her leg. Both pretty banged up. Over at smiths bend someone fell off the front of a boat and the boat ran over them causing them to drown, so been a bad weekend around these parts. Maybe 2DE or Itchy can fill us in a little better.

The one at Smith Bend (drowning) happened sat afternoon and they located the victim early sun morn. It wasn't any of the usual crowd that hangs out there, they were just enjoying the day at the river, appears there was a problem with the steering on the boat causing the person to be ejected from the boat and was struck by the boat. Then as Jay stated the other incident was at Sneads Fl. area. This is a sad thing that this has happened but it serves as a reminder, to check your boat out for wear and loose bolts etc. I checked mine yesterday, found prop loose & lower unit bolts were not as tight as needed, which could have made things get ugly. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of our lost fellow boater. We also wish Gary & Lauri a speedy recovery and look foward to seeing them back on the water soon.

They had a accident up in eufaula yesteday as well it seems.Nonspeed boat, still searching for the second victim at the moment.

Talked to Gary this morning, said he is sore as heck, top deck of boat is gonna have to be replaced, cowl damaged and Lauri is very sore. Maybe hyper extended her knee. He is just glad he is able to talk about it, as that boat is very quick that it happenned when it did. Did not know about the other incident.
