Android and iPhone apps for marine navigation?

I'm looking into getting an android and iPhone app for navigating the waters in long island, is there anyone that knows of any apps that work really well? Unless someone wants to sell me a gps that shows charts..

I have Navionics on my droid,works pretty good, at 9.99 its not that bad

navionics - you wont need anything else.

i just looked up youtube videos on navionics. it seems pretty good. i was looking at another app called mxmariner not sure is anyone is familiar with that. now with the navionics, do i need to be in a 3g service area for my phone?

Not sure about 3G but I do need my GPS turned on to get live readings on the phone. Its good to plan your trip from a cellphone
