A friend of mine is probably going to need someone who can tear down, evaluate, and rebuild a 1969 Mercury 125 inline six. I am guessing that it has an issue with the exhaust cover as I am seeing oil (milk shake) in the exhaust area.
At this point a complete rebuild would be in order. Who does this work?
Many thanks, Carter Powell

Well, seems you are west coast, and you will NOT find a more intense, qualified IL6 wrench than the famous Dr "Frakenmerc", here in WA. He's probably rebuilt 100's. Built me a crank up 135 Stack. Send me a PM, and get ya the info. He just grabbed a couple pristine 69's I think. Worth the trip up here with the motor, just to see his shop, and a hell of a nice guy too.

Of course, Chris is one of the best too. Thing is, not local, as Carter (poster) is in Prineville, OR, and the "Doc", is close to me in WA. Portland, OR is 90 miles south, looks like Prineville, another 90 some. Lots of fast Freeway cruising, leave in the morning, BS hours, home by dinner. Shipping to Chris would be more than bucks in gas up here a few times. Many here know the "Doc", (Thom Adams), as has a super reputation. Also, ya damn right, its in the exhaust plates, warped, cracked, water intrusion, and Thom knows that too well. He would yank the block apart, check and mic all bores, new rings, pistons if needed, bore clean up, etc, new seals and upper/lower bearings, machine the block flat if needed, new or good used parts, anything, to make it right again. He knows his stuff. Him, and me, hate to see a old IL6 "stack", go to scrap aluminum!
