I am switching from a 40-amp stator to a 16 amp? I believe I have all the wires right going to the switch boxes. The wires in question are the regulators. I removed both my stock regulators and have the small 16 amp one. Two yellow wires go to it from the stator and there is a + post with nothing to it.
Now do I mount this regulator to my engine and run one positive lead to the + on the regulator and where do I hook the gray tach wire to?
Thanks in advance for any help,

John the + post goes to the starting solenoid ,battery positive post. The tach can go to either yellow wire, there is no difference as far as the tach is concerned. Later Bob

John, Did you get rid of that bothersome rev limiter while you were making changes ? Bob

The ECU is at Rapair and the heads are at Jay Smiths. I have some XB-2003’s with built 260’s and 280’s to run with at the WAR in California next May.... Yeah my little XB-2002 is going to be ready to run.
Bob where is this little regulator mount on a 260?
I wanted to leave the aluminum plate the two 40 amp regulators bolted to off because it blocks the top bolts on the heads.

John, the rectifier on a 260 is on the starboard side , #3 cyl. Above the power packs and to the rear of the starter solenoid. Did you install a round wally yet ? What's your favorite holeshot prop? I've been using a 23 small hub trophy[ I know you hate 'em] The only lightning et I've run was worked for a norriscraft, slow out of the hole and big slip #s. Back to present duties, my man the Ehrok just gave me my birthday present, Wild turkey rare breed. I think the is about to roll in. I'll try to stay at a 2 on Wayne's" MTCM" hangover chart. "cause in the morning I'm goning over the hill to waste 5 bucks on a powerball ticket. 215 million then I don't have to wait for a second boat. Freuen sie sich uber das leben. Bob

Bob, I just bought a lab 26 ET but I have not had a chance to run it yet.
My favorite drag prop is my Yamaha (real) drag prop. I bought it as a 26 pitch, but it acts more like a 24 pitch out of the hole and top speed, so I think it’s been worked. It hit’s 80-82 mph is all at 6750 Rpm’s but it does it right now! When I get the ECU back from Rapair this prop should scream on the top end too for drags.
I have not done the Wally ball, but I did make myself a skidplate that drops down 3” below the jackplate. It is straight with no turned down edge at the rear and works great!
I also just bought a Mike Ray foil that is like an ET foil, but looks much better. I have not gotten a chance to test the results of the foil yet either as I am waiting for my 200 gearcase that should be here soon. The fabrication/finish on Mike’s foil is first class.

John I like the hydrofoil, where do you get one ? I've still got the incredably ugly stingray. I don't know if your foil works better than the Allison foil, but I think it looks better. How much are you having your heads cut? Thanks Bob

It sounds like you are making some good changes to your motor, i will give you a little info what my promax did with my 2002, my motor was all stock except the heads were cut to about 32 or 34 ccs i think i cant remember exactly been a long time since i put them on the motor, i was prop testing one day with a 14.5 X 30 maxco cleaver i was able to turn it 6700 rpm @94.8 mph, the neat part about that was i was racing a bullet through 1 to 1 1/2 ft chopp and the boat just flew right through that stuff, i was shocked because i was getting ready to back out of the throttle and did not have to, have you tryed a cleaver? hope this will help you out, do you ever attend the allison rally in tennessse, i think i am going to try and attend this year if it works out, hope this helps you out a little, good luck with your boat and have fun Greg

Bob,
My Foil actually says Allison on it and Mike Ray can make yours say whatever you want.
Here is a page he hangs out on http://pub34.ezboard.com/fperformancebassboatsjustthefactsfrm19 Or you can E-mail him at Mike Ray (CareyBullet @aol.com)
I am just going to go to around 35 on the heads so I can stay on pump gas.
Greg,
When my engine was completely stock with a 30 ET I ran on the rev limiter @ 96.3 mph GPS.
With the ECU being at Rapair I hope to get the 30 ET prop to take me over the century mark. While clearing the century mark with a 225 ProMax will be fun, setting up to drag 0- 92 or so feels like a lot more fun. My rig is also a comp model, center steer and I am running pretty light.
Last years I went to the West Coast Allison Rally in California. The Tennessee Rally is a long, long way for me, but I want to fly in this year. If I can get someone else in my area (Washington State) to go I may just take the boat.
Bob... HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Wild Turkey can put a hurt on ... LOL
