I guess I got started with cars, first buying stuff that resembled some of my real ones, then the Alterscale stuff got me interested in outboards. The little Seebold/Bud Light boat on the trailer has unbelievable detail too.

Last month at a car show I paid $70 for a 1/18th Ford Thunderbolt that's probably the most detailed model I've ever seen. Today somebody bought me a 62 409 Bel Air and 65 GTO from Sam's that are both 1/18th also and cost $9.95 each. I don't see how anybody can make and sell this stuff that cheap. Although these two are Maisto brands and not as detailed as some of the better ones, they're still all metal with decent finish and detail with opening doors, hood and trunk.

These damn things are habit forming.

Jason, I've got a couple of 62 SD Pontiac models still in the wrappers, but I've never seen a 63 either. I also saw a diecast 62 today, 1 18th probably, but my mind was on other stuff in this man's shop and I didn't pay enough attention to know if it was a Catalina, Bonneville, or Gran Prix.

Signed Bobby Allison's, Donnie Allison, DAvey Allison. HAve relatives that lived in Talladega,AL. My great uncle built radiators for most of the guys back in the 50's & 60's. Went to Hueytown when Davey got killed. What a tribute. EVERY store, business, and most homes had signs all over. "GOD BLESS THE ALLISONS"
Davey got killed at Talladega about a year after his brother Carl got killed at Michigan. At least Carl was racing, Davey was playing with his new "toy", a helicopter. Go figure!!

Skip, I may've told you this before, but when I was 16 I wanted a 55. My dad went to the auction and came home with a 57 2 dr hardtop. I was real disappointed, but grew to really like that car after I got it like I wanted it. Through all these years I've always wanted a 55 but never found the right car. Before Christmas, a local guy who's always been a car nut called me and asked if I wanted his 55 project. He'd been working on it off and on for several years, but unfortunately needed to sell it. The car's real solid, but fairly disassembled. He put a 12 bolt under it, about an inch and a half narrow on each side with ladder bars and coil overs. I didn't want his tunnel rammed small block so I bought it less engine/transmission. It's very close to ready to paint, although the doors and front sheet metal are off. I'm building a 540 for it and probably going to put a 5 speed in it. Right now, the color's undecided. It's a 210 and I might plug the holes and make it like a 150. I like the looks of 55's with no front bumper, so I'm going to either leave it off with the stock front pans, or do the ones like were on your car. Anyhow, I hope I'm going to ride in it this year.

Fenderwell headers for that BBC 55' Raceman?? I love that no-bumper, gasser-look!! I've been thinkin' about selling my 421 Catalina & building a replica of the "BAD MAN" 55'! ( one of my fave Monogram model-cars when I was a kid...) Wonder if RED tinted windows are DOT approved!?...:D

Jason, if you're into Ponchos, I've got a car you oughta do. I bought a 63 Lemans at a car show several years ago and never have done anything with it. It's 326/4barrel/3 speed, which was the hottest small car Pontiac had in 63 and is almost like a pre-GTO. It probably ought to be done stock, but I kinda had in mind an Arnie Beswick lookalike, just like the one he's been nostalgia racing recently. The other possibility was to just leave it stock looking and put a 421 in it, with proper emblems of course.
