Hi Guy's!

Well at the urging of a friend, I decided to try and have some fun with R/C boats. I intend to build my own, but before I do, I wanted to see if there are any sanctioning bodies out there that have established classes with rules and regulations. I didn't want to build something and then find it doesn't fit into a class or organization.

Any help would be appreciated.

they do have a couple of governing bodies if I remember right. Namba and ? I'm sure you can find them with a little searching.

North American Model Boaters Association /NAMBA

International Model Power Boat Association/ IMPBA

Also lots of good info here-
www.intlwaters.com / for Nitro
www.jrcbd.com / for Gas

I would strongly suggest attending a local race and watch a time or two. It will really help you find a popular class that you like in your area, and give you a good idea how a race weekend runs. Not every class makes the same pending on where you are in the country. You will find most everyone is more than willing to help out and give advise, so dont hesitate to ask questions. If I can help you at all give me a shout. Welcome to our addiction ;)

I agree, go to a local race first. The types of boats racing within the same organization varies a lot across the country. Im in IMPBA which is super strong around the midwest by me.
