While flying home from Arizona i had a couple of hours to kill waiting for a connecting flight in the Kansas City airport.
I went in a Subway shop to have some lunch , there were two soldiers wearing desert camo. at the table next to me.
Young guys , they looked tired , maybe they were on their way home from a tour.

A older ,overweight , balding business man walked over to there table and gave each guy $10.00 and said i would like to pay
for your lunch. He then turned and walked away.
Both of the soldiers faces lit up and when they got up and walked out they looked energized and proud.

A real reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Very nice. I make it a point to thank servicemen and women for their service when I see them, but haven't done that yet. I'll give it a go the next time.

When I was with my bro after his graduation from boot camp last year, we went to Cracker Barrel with two people from his class. All three of them sitting there in their dress blues. Great examples of our new soldiers! Anyways, I was amazed at the number of people that would make it a point to come over and thank them for their service and what they are sacrificing for our country....

That's awesome! It's good to hear stories like that...I try to make it a point to thank the ex-military people that I encounter as well.

I picked my buddy a few years back who had retired from the Army at the airport in Boston. He spent 27 years in much of that in the **** including Panama, Iraq 1, Somalia, and multiple tours in Afganistan, and Iraq 2 and retired as a SGM. He was in his full dress uniform with medals and had MOB big time. He was teated like a rock star seemed everyone wanted to thank him and little kids just wanted to touch him. It was very cool.

For all he's done he SHOULD be treated like a Rock Star;)
