I'm looking into changing boating strategies. I've been in a 1000 hp v-drive flat bottom runabout boat for 30 yrs and it's time change to a v-bottom stern-drive. I'm currently limited to smoother water boating (ie early morning/late afternoon) in a big wave/wake lake... HELP ME and my WIFE enjoy all day boating again... We like classic style boats with more modern hulls, we would appreciate boating in mid-day.....and enjoy bursts to 85 mph.
Your thoughts and suggestions for boats to look at....
Thanks!

Maybe a 22 Donzi classic with a big-block and blackhawk drive if you can find one...... don't think it'll do more than 70 though..... A 21 Superboat would be another choice, but again, 85 will take some serious work....

look around for a 22' or a 22'4" stoker sport tunnel...they eat the rough water for lunch, they are stylish and 85+ isnt a problem with decent power (100+ with big power)

In that size I would say a Nordic, Bernico, Or one of mine Highmaintenance boats.....I have a Bernico for sale up at Boat Masters in your area, great big water boat.
hi Rob,
if you're gonna consider a stoker sport tunnel, please also consider a Predator 25 cat. We have a single I/O model that takes a small block that would hit 85.
This is not used, this is a brand new hull, with a new interior, with your color choice for under 30K. You come up with a trailer. no power.
call me if you would consider a cat. Thanks....(917) 957 - 5758

Yes, a Bernico will definitely do the job. I'm a Stoker owner and a '22 would REALLY fit the bill. There are a lot of west coast boats out there. Schiada, Hallet, Spectra, DiMarco, Cole...all are great, solid hulls that can be found with outdrives and run very well in rough water. Lots of guys on riverdavesplace.com that could find you a pretty good deal.

21 donzi or 21 superboat / challenger, also like the 24 superboat. With the kind of horse power you are running 100 mph is in the cards . Nice 21 super for sale on scream and fly .

85mph in a $30k I/O is going to be tough. If you could be happy at 70mph there are a lot of choices.
