Im just looking for some feed back on the newest top pinned 2 ring merc pistons for the 260 & 280's. I pulled my motor apart to change out the pistons for new ones, cause I am not going to let it happen again. how are they holding up for you guys so far? how many hours can I expect to get of them? anybody have any pin problems? I remember losing rpms going from the old high ring piston to the newer low ring piston because the opening in the skirt was smaller on the low ring piston. when I switched back to the high ring piston those rpms were found. do the skirts need to be opened up on the top pinned pistons like the way the older high ring pistons were? Thanks...
anyone interested in a set of used merc high ring pistons with rings. $400 roughly 80 hrs
( I didnt take off the rods yet)

Helmut, there's another thread floating around today on that very issue. Jay Smith says they're workin' for him.

I think Jay said all the replacements that Merc is shipping now are Wiseco's.

Naw, you got the only new one I ever had. The dealer that got it for me isn't in business anymore.
