Well looks like I have been Scammed.3 months ago i send a bank transfer for a 1999 300 promax ($6000.00) He said will ship next few days,5 days go by no news, so I call him, he said was waiting for the FedEx truck. (should of been my first warning) so i thought its reasonable to wait a week or so to see what shows, nothing. So i call and call and email nothing.(next warning sign)<O:p></O:p>
I find out from a fishing buddy of his, he’s gone fishing till end of February, again call and call his cell the shop nothing ( now am stressed ) so finally in the first week of March ,i get a hold of him, he said that he had told is workers to send the motor, they did not, and he will ship it out right away, so i called him on Friday, and said it got shipped out on Thursday, i said by who, he gave me there name, so i call them, i talk to them and they no of no orders. So i called him back, he said he’s fishing and on Monday when he gets back, he will give me the name and tracking number. So i waited till Monday, called him, he said hang on a minute, was on hold for 5 minutes then the phone went dead. That was on March 12 ,i have been calling and calling and email, no reply. So on March 19 i call the local police, and sent them an email with all the info. The officer spoke with him, and he said the motor is here, and he is waiting for freight charges.(another lie) Meanwhile i keep calling and calling no answer, even told him i have a truck standing by for the pickup, no answer. I am proceeding the Fraud charges against him. and yes he’s a member on S&F, i sent the message to the forum moderator advising him of this.<O:p></O:p>user name whichway F&A marine 680 Keystone Business Park Drive, Camdenton MO 65020

Tell who he is on here so no one else has the same problem. Anyone can become a member, that doesn't make someone upstanding. I've found that MOST of those on here are great to deal with, but I have seen the other side too. Good luck, I hate to see anyone get ripped off, makes it worse that they are a member.

Wow, I've bought boats and things on here, blindly mailing and wiring money to pay for them. I've never had an issue, thank God..
Let's hope this thing shakes out for the best. I think if you have exhausted all your resources, airing it out one here may get some action. Maybe a member that is in proximity of the motor may help get this thing shipped.

Well he did say he contacted the site moderator so hopefully something this serious will get addressed with out delay. Just a suggestion, apexfx should also send a PM or two just to cover all bases and have a record for future reference.

I hate it when things like this happen. No one actually ever wins, the damage is done. And not just between the two parties but to many more. Think about how many visitors visit this site and how many might stumble on this thread. It damages alot of people.

I have had nothing but good dealings on here with honest people. Even though I have only been a member since 2009 I'm still reluctant to buy from anyone who hasn't been here atleast as long as I have (unless they're in driving distance). I'm in the boat repair buisness and do work on some peoples boats that I've known plenty long enough to think you trust em and then they stiff ya on a job out of the blue. The older I get the less and less I trust people when it comes to money. Believe me I know a few who have ruined a friendship over 50 bucks. So far this has been the most trustworthy place that I have ever seen to do business with people you've never met face to face. Good job S&F!!

I like on here how when someone is selling something, guys will chime in on his ad and vouch for the seller and/or the item. It's a pretty good way to weed out the BS. Reading the sellers past postings helps as well too, it's like seeing someone's history on eBay.

That should be the rule but just remember that this site doesn't get any commission off of sales like ebay does. The vendor pays his fee and can ruin his rep anytime he wants to like some people have numerous times and are still allowed to post. Just remember that there are 2 sides to every story and it does take money to keep this site up and running. I believe that if there is 100% honest proof that you got screwed then the seller should be banned immediately. My question is.. why would anyone want to ruin their reputation on this site?

My friend who owns a local marine repair shop has a nice 3.0 lower unit available. Removed from a nice, clean, freshwater motor that lost a rod. Typical low hour, MN lower.
