Is anybody using the plastic fuel manifold with a 5-7psi electric fuel pump? I'm kinda sweaty about doing it.

What year? Old cross flow factory manual says factory dual diaphram pumps should put out inbetween 2.5 and 6 psi at full throttle.
I have used an electric with no problems, but swapped back to the diaphram. :)

Thanks for the reply.
This engine block is a '78 235. It all came in bits and pieces, in several boxes. It didn't have the fuel pumps so I thought I'd just us an Carter 5-7psi electric. Curious, why did you go back to the diaphragm pumps?

The first is that was simple. No wires, relays, or switches.
The other is I think it is a little safer. If engine dies, so will the pumps, plus the only pressurized fuel is under the cowling and not in the boat.
I guess they may be more reliable. I have no starvation problems. Besides, the master says they are sufficient.:)
