Sure is nice to have warm weather again. I got to go test a couple boats this after noon and one was a lot of fun, like in turned a 27 Mazco re3 9400.

When I was still in Ohio I used to watch that every day in the paper : ) That was a sign I made it through another crappy winter when the days started getting longer. The next goal was making it to setting the clocks up so it's not dark at 6:00 oh freakin Oclock!
The final sign that I survived one more winter was when the local Meijers store put out their marine display : )
Now you know why I now live where I do ; )

Al, 27" X 9400............do tell. Trying to think which project this may be ; )

F-1 engine on a 20 that was converted from a pleasure boat to a COR race boat. Did make a few set up changes on it today since with the added power it needed balance moved a bit.

This would be a good time to tell this old story. I think it was in 1988 (?) at Parker. Mod-VP had two seperate classes one stock buy the ules and the other modified. I was driving for Louis Collins with a Yamaha 225 Excel and our radar speed was 107 tops in the Mirage. Louis got us a great starting possition #7. When the race started i got a good start and there wasn`t but maybe two or three mod-U boats in front of me. At about mid track i`m running as fast as i could when three Modified Mod-VP boats came flying by. A yellow one, A red one and a white one. Yep It was Al Stoker, Chip Watkins and Greg Foster. They had to be running near 120. I was so impressed.

Cool stuff Bobby. When I raced I had the fastest in the contry in my region and those folkers showed up at every poe dunk race I went to.
Never minded being spanked by them thought because you knew if you could get around them you could win anywhere.
Great story bobby.

Bobby I remember that year, I had a 2.7 bored to a 3 liter and 6 2barrel carbs. Chip and Greg both had developmental Mercs right off the truck that were rumored to be 2.7 liter. I know with 70 gallons of fuel up a 7 mile current mine was radared at 117 4 hours into the race, light on fuel down river easily over 120.
