Does anyone know what the ohm reading should be for the air temp sensor on a 2.5 i have a 93 260 with a 11350 a49 box on it if that info is needed thanks greg.
Resistance varies with air temp. Air temp goes up, sensor resistance goes down. Air temp go down, sensor resistance goes up. There is probably a nominal resistance value for a given temperature, but I do not know what it is. You can check that sensor with a DDT to be sure if it is functioning properly.
Two things for sure: It should not read short (zero ohms) or open (infinity).
Did you ever receive my e-mail concerning the Merc Cleaver?

At 70 to 80 degrees the resistance should be around 7000 to 8000 ohms. At lower temps the value goes significantly higher and produces a richer mixture.

One of the Merc manuals (not the 260/245 manual) has the values for that sensor. It might be the promax manual. I think Tony Brucato has the info.
We posted at the same time.

68 degrees 10.25k ohms:D
We have done this before on the "post at the same time" (LOL)......................I had that value written down somewhere, but could not find it. Thanks for the reminder. Take care.
and ye shall receive.................thanks Brendan
Is that an outboard you have mounted on the back of your truck?:D I like that.

I would say the air temp in my garage is around 45 or so and my ohm reading is 18.69 k ohms is my sensor ok or is it junk thanks for the help Greg.

That is about what I get at those temps. I would check it at a warmer temp also to be sure.

Thanks for the response, i turned my torpedo on heater and the ohms starting going down so i would say this part is ok thanks greg.
