I would love to run a cleaver but i dont know anything about how they work!! I run a flat bottom boat not a inflatable! My questions are:
Do i need a low water pickup to use the cleaver??
Will i get good holeshot or will it spin some??
Will i get more speed than my 17 pitch round ear prop??
Do i have to use a low water pickup?
If i use a 17 pich round ear now what picth cleaver should i buy??
My speed now is 52 mph and im hitting the rev limiter!!
Thanks Tyler

cleavers work best on tunnel boats. Lets see some pictures of your boat.

Pitch is the same from prop to prop. A cleaver works well on a boat that lifts its hull out of the water well on its own. Round ear choppers help lift the front of the boat. cleavers actually help lift the rear of the boat to make it run lighter.
If your hitting the rev limiter you will be better getting a taller prop. Possibly a 18 or 19. A cleaver may work well on that boat. Its hard to tell. Cleavers are not known for their hole shot. They are known for fast top end speeds.

Thanks you very much for your input :D I think what i should do is buy both of these props to see which works the best and then sell the other! http://www.mertenmarine.com/servlet/the-519/chopper-II-right-hand/Detail &

Always good to try props when you can. Email Ron Hill and tell him your set up. He can recommend something for your set up. But I think your in the right direction.
