I want add a small inline sea strainer or filter to the line off my transom mounted water pickup. I am looking at the Sureflows but I need to contact them and see what kind of pressure they are rated for. One problem is that I have VERY limited mounted space where it is mounted above the waterline. My fear would be the lid would pop off under the pressure of running fast and quickly sink the boat. Wouldnt take much but really dont want to install a big metal strainer.

Sherwood makes a strainer that has a spin on (threaded)thick clear basket with a removable stainless screen, they list a couple different sizes & are a very well built product.hope this helps.

I have emailed them to see what the pressure rating is. I am probably getting a good amount of pressure at 80mph from the pickup.

The plastic one in the link above are rated to 150psi. More than enough for my application.

Make sure to have a spare o-ring on hand for the clear bowl, they seem to be hard to find localy, around here anyway.
